Employee Perks

A number of local businesses and franchises offer discounts and special deals ("perks") to IU faculty and staff. The intent of these offers is to encourage goodwill within the community between IU faculty, staff members, and local businesses; IU faculty and staff will have incentive to patronize local businesses, and local businesses will benefit from increased business with IU faculty and staff. These perks are special offers and not a part of the wages, bonuses, and benefits packages provided by Indiana University.

If you know of other perks, or if you wish to include a perk from your local business or franchise (or your non-local or online business with an existing vendor/business relationship with Indiana University), please contact the Bloomington Professional Council (BPC). Requests for inclusion on this site are approved at the sole discretion of the BPC, in accordance with the intentions noted above.

• ACE Rent A Car: 15% discount off rental rate on any vehicle with IU ID.

• Car Rental: Visit IU Travel Management Services for details.

• Ford Motor Company: IU faculty and staff are eligible for discounts on Ford vehicles. Access the Ford Partner Recognition Program using the partner code INDIU or call 1-877-xplan-00. There, you can browse for other opportunities. When you are ready to generate a Personal Identification Number (PIN), click on the "PINs" tab and select "Generate a PIN". The system will create a PIN for you to take to your local dealership. Also, you will need to provide proof that you work for IU to the dealership (ID card, paycheck, W-2, badge).

• Meineke Car Care Center: 10% discount on all repairs, other than sale items, with IU ID.

• Midas Auto Service Experts: 10% off parts and labor, with IU ID. Offer good only at Bloomington location.

• Quik Lube: $3.00 discount off full service lube, oil, and filter change with IU ID. Offer good only at Bloomington location.

• Ambrosia Catering: 10% discount on 1/4 sheet and 1/2 sheet cakes (1 discount cake per order). Requires 72 hours notice in order to honor the request.

• Bruster's Ice Cream: 10% off purchase with IU ID.

• Fourwinds Resort: Free dessert with the purchase of entree with IU ID. (Not valid during holidays or special event periods, and may not be used in conjunction with other offers.)

• The Overlook Restaurant at Salt Creek Golf Retreat: Free appetizer with the purchase of dinner entree with IU ID.

• Texas Roadhouse: 10% off food purchase (Monday–Thursday only) with IU ID. Offer good only at Bloomington location.

• Campus Recreational Sports: Access to the Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) and the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation's (HPER) Wildermuth Intramural Center -- offering 2 indoor tracks, 3 pools, 18,000 ft² of strength and conditioning space, over 400 pieces of equipment, and over 80 group exercise sessions per week -- for $193 per year for an employee (including dependents under 18) or $386 for a household.

• IU School of Optometry: 10% discount on spectacle lenses and frames to all faculty and staff and their spouses, registered domestic partners, and dependent children who are eligible for IU-sponsored health care plans (if not covered by another vision insurance plan). IU ID or IU insurance card must be presented to be eligible (family members may use a photocopy of the affiliated employee's IU ID card or IU insurance card). Offer good at all IU Eye Care Center locations.

• Hair International Day Spa: 10% off any color with IU ID (for new color clients only).

• Osmon Chiropractic Center: 20% discount on all services offered within the clinic, including (but not limited to): acupuncture, chiropractic, rehabilitation, and nutritional counseling. For more information, call (812) 333-7447.

• Ossip Optometry: 20% discount on all prescription frames, spectacle lenses and coatings, and contact lens materials, and 10% discount on all non-prescription sunglasses. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer or any insurance benefits. Offer good at all Ossip Optometry locations.

• GMAC Real Estate: The GMAC Great Moves Discount Program offers a cash-back award of $3 per thousand dollars of the purchase and/or sale price of home when using a GMAC real estate agent. Discounts on mortgages, household goods, moving services, and insurance are also available. • Master Rental Center: 20% discount off any rental with IU ID (merchandise not included). For location and hours, contact Master Rental.

• Moving Day Boxes: IU faculty and staff receive 10% discount on moving boxes and moving supplies with valid IU ID. To receive discount, print out and submit the rebate form (PDF) after ordering. Average rebate received within 10 days. Proud member of the Better Business Bureau.

• Renaissance Rentals: Reduced security deposit and monthly rental rates at Covenanter Hill Neighborhood, MeadowCreek Luxury Community, and Scholar's Quad properties. Amount varies throughout the year. Call Renaissance Rentals at (812) 330-1123 and identify yourself as an IU employee for description of benefits.

• AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular): IU faculty and staff can receive 12% discount on monthly rate plans (on plans $20 or above for existing customers, and $39.99 for new customers). Rate plan discounts are available if you order online or at a store, but lowest available pricing on devices and a $25 discount is available only if you order online. In addition, this plan provides special abbreviated dialing codes to reach campus police and UITS Support Services, with no air time charges (unless roaming).

• Internet Service: High-speed DSL service is available to faculty and staff at reduced subscription rates from Kiva Networking in Bloomington.

• IT Training & Education: Computer classes and workshops available at discounted rates for faculty and staff.

• IU Fee Courtesy: Appointed full-time faculty and staff, retirees, and dependents can receive a subsidy toward the tuition costs associated with attending Indiana University classes.

• Bradford Woods: 30% off lodging and food services. Bradford Woods is located at 5040 Highway 67 North, near Martinsville. Call (765) 342-2915, extension 5119, for more information.

• Fourwinds Resort & Marina: 25% discount off hotel rooms (Sunday–Thursday) and 25% discount off boat rentals (Monday–Wednesday) with IU ID. Not valid during holidays or special event periods, and may not be used in conjunction with other offers.

• Salt Creek Golf Retreat: $25.00 for 18 holes of golf, including golf cart, with IU ID (valid Monday–Friday). The Overlook Restaurant at Salt Creek Golf Retreat also offers IU employees (with ID) a free appetizer with the purchase of dinner entree.

• Soft Touch Moving & Storage: 10% discount off moving and storage, including mileage, nationwide.

• Tec Photography: 15% discount off price of single prints with IU ID. Not valid for wedding or event photography, with other discounts, or on sale items.
