Individual Involvement

Interested in helping IU become a more sustainable university? Want to help us bring up that B grade from the Sustainable Endowments Institute? (And maintain our A rate for student involvement!?)

You've come to the right place. As an individual, there are several ways you can lend a hand!

  • Serve as a group's Representative to the SSC!
Already a member of another IUB student group? All groups on campus are allowed membership on the Council, and we want their input. If your group is alread a member, talk with the group's leadership about how to become its representative. For more information on joining as an organization, click here.
  • Serve on one of the council's committees.
We're constantly looking for motivated individuals seeking to help make the campus –and our world – a better place. Whether your skills are in event planning, graphic design, or scientific research, we've got a place for you. Click here for a list of committees and their responsibilities.
  • Run for an executive position.
Already have some leadership experience? Elections are held at end of each semester. More information on executive responsibilities can be found here.
  • Join in any of the SSC's events and activities!
Have some free time? Check out the events page and the calendar for upcoming lectures, panels, film screenings, service opportunities, and more!
