The
Indiana University - Indiana Mathematics Initiative Math Science
Partnership strives to increase the capacity of
nine urban districts in the Indiana Mathematics Initiative (IMI)
Consortium to deliver effective standards-based mathematics
teaching to all students through quality professional development experiences.
The nine school districts comprising the IMI Consortium are
scattered throughout the state, as shown on the map to the left. There are a total of 126 elementary schools (57 Title I), 36 middle schools
and 24 high schools in the districts serving over 115,000 students.
Begun in 2002, this partnership between the Indiana University Center for Mathematics Education (IUCME)
and the Indiana Mathematics Initiative was awarded
$6.2 million by the National Science Foundation through
the
NSF Math Science Partnership Program,
