Hello. I have been having a tough time with getting my students to recognize the two different ways for writing a division problem. In my school district, we are encouraged to administer timed tests in the four computation methods. The majority of my class has bombed the division timed tests. When I model division on the board or overhead, I try to show both ways, but must admit that it does not happen often enough. What are some suggestions for getting students used to dividing in this manner other than flash cards (which I let partners use for practice along with their fact triangles)?
