My students enjoyed this simple project. Yesterday, they painted paper straws many different colors. Today, they cut the straws into small pieces and put them into a bowl. Then we put three blocks together. Each child measured a piece of yarn the same length as the blocks and cut it. After they cut the yarn, they strung the straw pieces onto the yarn to make beautiful necklaces. I encouraged and modeled making patterns with their straw pieces.
