Patterning-Template Turkey Feathers
My students enjoy using the pattern block templates and colored pencils.
I gave them one strip of paper and had them chose two colors and two shapes to create an AB pattern. Experiencing success, they all asked to do more. I had them do two strips one day and two more the next day.
We turned the strips into feathers for each student's individual turkey.
They were so creative. Some students went on to create ABC patterns.
The turkeys made a terrific display and a great example of product assessment.

I love the idea of using the strips of paper and templates to make turkey feather patterns. Even though it is a bit too late for us to try it with turkeys, we may do the activity as a center. Great idea!
