Maintaining Momentum by Sustaining Mathematical Dialogues
Paul will talk about sustaining and enriching the mathematical conversations that arise in K-12 classrooms and will share ideas for stimulating rich mathematical conversations. He will also reflect on the need to continue the types of professional dialogues the IMI-IU MSP project has supported. Paul will include insights from a longitudinal study of an elementary school math curriculum, examples of rich open-ended classroom conversations, and sample topics from an innovative secondary school mathematical biology curriculum development project.
