The College Democrats are the official youth caucus of the Democratic National Committee. We’re an action-driven student-led network working for the future of our nation. We were instrumental in the 2008 elections which turned the state of Indiana blue for the first time in forty years, and in 2012 we turned out to vote in even greater numbers.
In 2012 IU College Democrats alone registered 3,959 voters
In 2008 the College Democrats chapters in the state of Indiana:
Knocked on 80,571+ doors
Made 127,752+ calls
Registered 36,450+ new voters (11,000 of which were registered by this chapter)
Held 446+ canvasses
The College Democrats pledges itself to continue to support the philosophy and candidates of the Democratic Party. Furthermore, the College Democrats intends to support all efforts to increase the participation of college students in Democratic affairs. To these ends, the College Democrats educates and trains its members so that they may be better able to:
1. Educate students about the philosophy of the Democratic Party;
2. Assist in the election of local, state, and national Democratic candidates.
3. Affect political change on the local, state, and national level.
