Below you’ll find the current 2014 College Democrats at IU executive board. The executive board consists of 6 voting members and the President. The members of the executive board are individually elected each year at the end of the fall semester by a majority vote of the general members. Any general member in “good standing” is eligible to run for a position (further exceptions for the position of President). For more information visit the Constitution page. President, Melissa Calero
Melissa is from Evansville, IN, and is a Junior majoring in Spanish Education with a minor in Counseling and a license addition to teach English as a New Language. She is currently preparing to do her student teaching in Spain next Spring. Melissa has been a member of the College Democrats since the start of her Sophomore year, when she became actively involved in the 2012 election.

Vice President, Connor Shaw
Connor is a junior from New York majoring in Political Science and Economics. He is actively involved on campus serving in Student Government, as well as serving as the public relations chair for the College Luminaries Council. Connor has supported the Democratic cause with professional experience working with Congressman Jim Himes, former Congressman Anthony Weiner, and for a large labor union in Queens, New York. In Connor’s spare time, he enjoys rooting on the Indiana Hoosiers and New York Yankees, as well as reading, sailing, and watching the Daily Show.

Treasurer, Kamran Zahid
Kamran is a freshman majoring in biology and economics. He is a huge Obama fan and worked for his re-election campaign during high school. He has volunteered for Freedom Indiana, promotes liberal politics, plays basketball, watches good TV shows, and listens to hip-hop in his free time.

Political Affairs, Morgan Mohr
Morgan Mohr is a freshman Wells scholar majoring in Political Science, History, and Feminist Policy. Last summer, she interned for the Office of Senator Donnelly, and she was the lead campus organizer at IU for Freedom Indiana, the campaign fighting HJR-3.

Social Events, Andrew Ellison
Andrew is a sophomore majoring in Political Science. A lifelong Democrat, he has served as a volunteer for Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight’s 2011 re-election campaign, a volunteer for Senator Joe Donnelly’s 2012 Senate campaign, and a campaign intern for Freedom Indiana, the statewide bipartisan campaign opposed to HJR-3.

Outreach, Hannah Miller
Hannah is a freshman double majoring in Policy Analysis and Nonprofit Management with minors in English and Political Science. She is currently a field organizer for Freedom Indiana and has been working with them since September. She is also involved with the Teter Honors Council.
