  • AnnElyse Gibbons gibbons2@indiana.edu
    • President
    • AnnElyse Gibbons came to Indiana University from Highland Park, Illinois, and is a senior majoring in Legal Studies in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She also served as an executive board member of IU College Democrats as a sophomore and a junior. She has proudly worked on many campaigns including Mayor Mark Kruzan's, Rep. Baron Hill's, Secretary Hillary Clinton's and President Barack Obama's. She spent last spring semester working for the Department of Justice in Washington DC, and is eager to be back in Bloomington to meet our new members and encourage more to join. She looks forward to working on issues such as Healthcare, Green technology and Sustainability.

    • Administrative Vice President
    • Daniel Herman came to IU from Potomac, Maryland and is a junior majoring in Political Science and Telecommunications. He has been involved in democratic student organizations since high school and has been active IUCD member since he arrived on campus. He greatly enjoyed working to turn Indiana blue this past fall with the Students for Change who succeeded in registering over 11,000 new voters!

    • Political Vice President
    • Maxfield Wollam-Fisher comes to IU from the great state of Wisconsin to study cello and economics. A lifelong democrat, Maxfield is proud never to have lived in a state that has voted red in a presidential election. This includes the 2008 election in Indiana during which Maxfield was publicity director for the excellent organization that owns this website. Maxfield is entranced with power and powerful people. In the time he saves by riding his bicycle between degrees, Maxfield works for the Music Library and the math department, teaches cello, plays table tennis, enjoys sunlight, and eats organic chocolate.

    • Financial Vice President
    • Anne Rayne is a junior majoring in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management. She is originally from just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. During the summer she leads wilderness trips in northern Wisconsin. She was an intern for the Obama campaign in Indiana.

    • Dan O'Dea is a twenty-one years old and hails from Carmel, Indiana. He is a junior majoring in SPEA Policy Analysis. Prior to his position at IU College Democrats, he was the treasurer for the IUPUI Student Democrats. Issues that are important to Dan include education, public transportation, and environmental sustainability.

    • Shanti Knight is a sophomore studying journalism and photography. She has been involved in political organizations since she was fifteen. She has worked with IU College Democrats since she started at IU in the fall of 2008.

    • Kelly is a junior from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is majoring in English and Political Science and minoring in Spanish. Outside of College Dems, Kelly enjoys giving campus tours, teaching and coaching swimming, writing, meeting new people, drinking coffee and watching 20/20. Kelly is proud to be a part of the organization that worked to turn Indiana BLUE and is excited to see continued political engagement and enthusiasm on Indiana's campus!

    • Laura Carlson is a junior majoring in International & African Studies and Political Science. She is a hoosier native from Carmel, Indiana. She also serves as the co-coordinator of Students for President Obama. She worked on the Obama campaign starting with the primary and is thrilled to live in a blue state! She enjoys IU basketball, rollerblading, photography, the fashion of Michelle Obama, and horseback riding with the IU Equestrian Team.

    • Logan Souder is a sophomore majoring in Political Science and History. He grew up just south of Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended Norwell High School. He worked on the Obama Campaign in the fall of 2008 and is a lifelong supporter of intelligent, progressive politics to help all Americans.

    • Faz is originally from NYC, NY. He is currently a senior at Indiana University, studying Political Science and International Studies. He worked for the Obama Campaign as an Organizing fellow and he is currently heavily involved on campus. He is the Outreach Director for Union Board 2009 and a track manager for IU student foundation. He believes in being active on campus having fun and staying true to my liberal beliefs.

    • Kaylie Scherer is originally from Bloomington and is majoring in Public and Non-profit management. She was an intern for the Hillary Clinton Campaign during the democratic primary and an intern for the Barack Obama campaign during the general election.

    • Policy Director
    • Scott, a member of the class of 2012, is studying history, political science, and Arabic. He has lived in a variety of locations, including Hong Kong and Singapore, and has a passion for international affairs and the Middle East. Unfortunately, Scott’s involvement in politics began when he supported George W. Bush with a certain Halloween costume in 2000. A few wars and a little independent thinking later, he was enthusiastically volunteering for Barack Obama’s campaign, and he hopes to continue working for Democratic campaigns in the future.

    • Mariah is a Midwestern girl from Freeport, IL- GO PRETZELS! She also serves on the executive board of IU Students for President Barack Obama and is majoring in Art History, French and History. Mariah enjoys springtime in Bloomington, the Obama administration, being a Francophile, Jeopardy, art museums, making scrapbooks, travel and sushi. She is proud of all the people who turned Indiana blue in 2008 and can't wait to do it again!
