Interested in Dance Marathon but not a committee member of a dancer? Still want to get involved? Become a mass member!
Mass members are essential volunteers who really help make the marathon a reality. Responsibilities include:
- Eight hours or more commitment (… and we completely understand if you want to volunteer longer! It's completely worth it!)
- Assisting primarily the Operations Committee in tasks before, during, and after the marathon
- Physical duties
- Security
- Other committees: Catering, Riley Development
- Fundraising
- Letters to family, friends
- Mass Member Road Rules
- Other canning events
For more information on becoming a mass member, contact Tim Day, IUDM Director of Operations, .
A Note From the Director
Dear Volunteer,
This being my third year with Dance Marathon, I promise you that if you take this wonderful "Chance of a Lifetime", you truly will be helping "to Give a Lifetime of Chance". The work this amazing organization does helping the kids at Riley, the work that you can be a part of - it just touches your heart in a way you will never forget. The only regret you will have is that you couldn't do more.
Don't take my word for it - come out and volunteer! Not only will you be doing the most worthwhile work you've ever done, you'll have fun too! You'll spend time with the kids, and that's when you'll truly understand what it's all about. It's about the kids, their smiles, and their joy. They understand what you're doing - spend some time with them, and you'll understand too.
For the Kids,
Tim Day
