IU Dance Marathon 2008


   Indiana University Dance Marathon is a 36-hour fundraising event for the Ryan White Infectious Disease Center at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.  Participants, usually in teams, pledge funds prior to the event, then stay awake for the entire 36 hours while remaining in the HPER gymnasium.  For more information, visit IU Dance Marathon's website (new window) or view pictures and videos of our coverage in

 Scheduling Procedure


  • Once announced, e-mail us and tell us all times during the entire event that you are available to work, regardless of which shifts are already filled on the tentative schedule.

  • We will assign you to tentative shifts during the scheduling process.

  • Your shifts may change, and you are responsible for remaining available for all the times you initially gave us until we announce that the schedule is finalized!

  • Note:  Please indicate your position (EMT or First Aider) when volunteering for Dance Marathon.

 Related Information


    All members who will work at the IU Dance Marathon should review the following information as necessary

 prior to their first shift.  Members are responsible for knowing and abiding by this information while working.

 Additional Protocols


 Note:  These protocols are in addition to the general protocols!

  • Members may only work two consecutive shifts, after which they are required to have one shift off.

  • Jackets, fleeces, and sweatshirts may not be worn while working inside the HPER building.

  • Always stay with your partner(s).

  • Roaming teams must check the hallways, restrooms, and smoking area on a regular basis.
