► ITTs
(Individual Time Trials)
Location: Bill Armstrong Stadium
Check-In: Bill Armstrong Stadium Bike Shop
Description: Riders are individually timed as
each member of a team completes four laps around the
track with three riders from different teams. The four
riders on the track at the same time start from
different turns. Each team's total time is used to
determine its poll (starting) position for the race.
IU-EMS' Role: IU-EMS personnel will be stationed at
a table in the infield, next to the start/finish line,
where teams exchange their bicycles from one rider
to the next. A tent will be available for use during
poor weather conditions. Since riders crash often, we will not
respond to every crash, but will watch for
riders who need assistance. We will also treat any rider that
approaches us.
Typical Patient Conditions: Abrasions,
Lacerations, Joint Sprains, Arm, Collarbone, and Rib
Fractures, Concussions, Spinal Fracture Precautions
Typical
Staffing: 2 EMTs,
2 First Aiders
► Miss-N-Out
Location: Bill Armstrong Stadium
Check-In: Bill Armstrong Stadium Bike Shop
Description: Riders participate in a
round-by-round, tournament-style competition. Each round
consists of enough trials to allow each remaining team to participate in
that round. Each trial consists
of six to ten riders, each from a different team. For each trial, the
riders race from the start/finish line.
The last rider to cross the start/finish line after each lap will be eliminated,
until only two riders remain,
who will advance to the next round. The competition continues in this manner
until the final round,
during which an overall winner will be determined.
IU-EMS' Role: IU-EMS personnel will be stationed at
a table in the infield, next to the start/finish line,
where teams exchange their bicycles from one rider

► Practices
Location: Bill Armstrong Stadium

Description: Shifts are assigned on a weekly basis,

bicycle. Later in the season, riders ride at full speed
and practice under race conditions.
