EMS Abbreviations


    The following abbreviations are general EMS abbreviations that are the most useful for IU-EMS members to know and use, but the list is not limiting.  The goal of using abbreviations is to make communication easier;  therefore, only use the most useful abbreviations based on a situation.  Using too many will make your communication difficult to understand.  Abbreviations specific to IU-EMS are listed at the bottom.  This list, as well as a comprehensive list of general EMS abbreviations, are also available as PDF documents:
