  • There is no parking available in Rapid City for personal vehicles; leaving a car in Rapid City while you are participating in the course is NOT an option.
  • The transportation fee remains the same whether you join the group in Rapid City or in Bloomington.
  • Do not attempt to check in the motel if you arrive prior to the caravan. Wait in the lobby, as you must be checked in and assigned to a room by an Indiana University representative.

  • We can arrange for you to stay in a dormitory room on the Bloomington campus Sunday night, but this cost is NOT included in the motel fee. The fee for a room will be approx. $42.00, payable upon arrival or in advance. All rooms MUST be reserved in advance, so be sure to indicate your request on your travel form.
  • The caravan will leave the parking lot of the Geology building promptly at 7:00 am on Monday, June 28. Breakfast will be served in the lobby of the Geology building beginning at 6:00 am

If you are FLYING into Indianapolis then traveling to Bloomington, you should:

  • fly into Indianapolis on a flight arriving no later than 1:30 pm in order to take the 2:40 pm shuttle. For earlier shuttle departure times, check the schedule on their website.
  • Take the Bloomington Shuttle from the airport to the Indiana Memorial Union. You should ask the shuttle driver if he/she will drop you off at the Geology building. Some will, some will not since this is not a scheduled stop. If you must exit at the Indiana Memorial Union, we will have someone there to pick you up and drive you to the Geology building.
  • Make reservations in advance at www.bloomingtonshuttle.com. You will only need a ONE WAY reservation since the return caravan will drop students off at the airport before returning to Bloomington. Your cost is $25 for a one way trip, payable directly to Bloomington Shuttle when you make your reservation.

If you are DRIVING to Bloomington, you should:

  • Request a temporary parking permit to leave your vehicle on the Indiana University campus while you are in Montana. The cost is approximately $15, payable upon arrival. Permits MUST be requested in advance, so be sure to indicate this on your travel form.
