Chairman's Platform
Our Chairmans platform
Indiana University College Republicans
Platform for Nov. 2008-Nov. 2009
A Time to Rebuild
Why I am Running for Chairman…
- To communicate and delegate allowing all to know our presence on campus and to give each College Republican a duty and reason to proudly claim they are in the IU College Republicans
- To create a network of fundraising that lasts beyond my leadership and can be easily handed over to the next leadership
- To reform the roles of the Executive Board possibly eliminating some roles and establishing new roles
- To recruit new members to our group creating one of the largest increases in CR participation
- To establish an even better relationship with the Indiana Republican State Party Office and to make a dent in Monroe County making it light blue rather than bright blue
- To build a College Republicans communication network throughout the state that allows each school’s Republicans opportunities to participate in other school’s activities
- To build the model College Republicans system that universities can adopt in order to create a grassroots movement among college students for the future of our Party
- To become a more community-engaged service oriented organization that shows the compassion of our Party for all.
- To be a leader in public policy discussion and political philosophy on campus through forums, speakers, and conferences.
- Minimum operating budget of $20,000 over the next year. Fundraise up to minimum of $25,000 leaving $5,000 for the next fiscal year. Create a fundraising network system that lasts longer than all of us.
- Revamp our CR’s office into one that works for us!
- Purchase lasting campaign materials that can be used for future CR’s.
- Reform our weekly meetings into a more engaged environment with committees communicating their roles on a week-by-week basis and everyone involved in a committee.
- Increase weekly attendance to College Republicans meetings and maintaining such a quota.
- Eliminate ineffective Executive Board positions, if necessary, and establishing new positions within the Executive Board, if necessary.
- Hold executive committee members accountable to their commitment of service.
- Recruit major Party speakers to campus over the course of my leadership along with great opportunities to attend Republican events statewide and nationally with funding provided.
- Create a better relationship with the College Democrats leaving us in good taste with them, if possible.
- Become a leader in Bloomington on service oriented activities.
- To have fun and say with pride, “I’m in College Republicans at Indiana University!”
