College Republicans host Intercollegiate Studies Institute Speaker, Dr. Brad Birzer
BLOOMINGTON – The College Republicans at Indiana University Bloomington will host Dr. Brad Birzer, Russell Amos Kirk Chair in American Studies and Professor of history at Hillsdale College, for a talk on “Russell Kirk and the Future of Free Markets”.
The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday March 19 in room 274 of the SPEA Building, and is open to the public.
“We are so lucky that the Intercollegiate Studies Institute chose IU to sponsor a lecture this year,” said College Republicans Chairwoman Hilary Leighty. “Dr. Birzer will be speaking on the future of free markets which is an important topic to many students on campus, especially with the upcoming election.”
The College Republicans are an on-campus organization dedicated to promoting the principles of the Republican Party, assisting Party candidates and helping students develop leadership skills.
The College Republicans at Indiana University were formally established in 1988. The organization has played an integral role in promoting conservative values in the IU Bloomington community; while working to elect individuals who advocate limited government, individual liberty, and traditional American values.
