This African language text was formerly available from the Indiana University African Studies program, and is now being distributed by the IULC. It presents introductory instruction in SeSotho, a Bantu language spoken by the people of Lesotho in Southern Africa. It consists of daily lessons with a typical tutorial format. New forms are given at the beginning of each lesson with a series of SeSotho statements for the student to examine and translate. Questions and answers follow. The new forms are then used in context in exemplifying dialogs and prose passages, followed by questions testing comprehension. Appendices at the end of the text summarize such things as agreement patterns and verb tenses. This text is presented in a condensed form ideal for those with previous experience with language learning. There is limited repetition of material and is intended as an adjunct text providing supplementary drills and opportunities for the student to increase fluency in speaking and comprehension.
