The IULC was founded within the Department of Linguistics at Indiana University in 1968 to support the activities of students in linguistics and related fields.
We have been publishing linguistics-related works since then and making them available to linguists around the world.
In 2011, it became a recognised student organisation operating under the SLL at IU.
