Indiana University

We offer travel grants for graduate students who have traveled to conferences and presented on a linguistics-related topic within the previous year.  A copy of the letter of acceptance and a copy of the paper's abstract are required.  The amount of each travel grant is variable, based on the distance to be traveled and need.  The general equation is 55.5 cents per mile (based on driving distance only), up to $150.

The submission deadline for the travel grant is April 1st every year for any travel that took place within the previous year.

Students may be awarded a maximum of one travel grant per academic year. Applications will be reviewed both by the IULC officers and a faculty member to determine the recipient of the grant. Awardees of the travel grant are strongly encouraged to present their research at a LingLunch.

The application form (pdf, doc), along with copies of the letter of acceptance to the conference and the abstract to your presentation, should be put into the IULC mailbox in Memorial Hall, or electronically sent to  This email address is being protected from spambots.
