LODGING: There are many hotels in the vicinity of IU that are accessible by the city and campus bus lines. A block of 14 rooms have been placed on hold at the Indiana Memorial Union on IU campus(a short walk to Jordan Hall) for Friday and Saturday 10/9-10/10. Prices range from $110-$140. Please call the hotel at 1-800-209-8145 for more information. By sure to mention McWop. Rooms at the IMU will only be held until September 8th. (The rooms include double rooms that can be shared.)
Additionally, a block of about 10 double rooms has been placed on hold at the Super 8 Motel at 1751 Stonelake Dr. (off of 46 Bypass) on the north side of Bloomington, approximately 2 miles from campus at a rate of $69.99 per night plus tax. To reserve a room at this rate, call 812-323-8000 and refer to confirmation number 159435. If necessary, you should mention.that they are the block of rooms reserved by Jan for Linguistics.
We have also reserved a block of 8 rooms at the Country Hearth Inn on N. Walnut Street for McWOP at the rate of $50 per night for rooms with double beds. You will need to book online at that site.
You may want to check www.hotels.com for Bloomington, Indiana, for other options. We have 32 rooms on hold altogether. In any case, we want to emphasize that you should make your hotel reservation as soon as possible, especially if you know that you will be attending. While it is not a football weekend, there are other events going on the weekend of the workshop, and hotel rooms in town will soon be scarce.
