Indiana University, Bloomington is considered one of the nation's best public universities. The oldest and largest of the eight campuses of Indiana University, Bloomington has a proud tradition of academic excellence and public service. There are nineteen libraries on campus. The holding of the Main Library are exceptional (over five million books) with unique strengths in fields such as Eastern European and Russian Studies, History, and Philosophy. The Main Library also offers exceptional access to an impressive number of on-line academic journals. There are subject librarians for every major field, including political science The Lilly Library is the principal rare books, manuscripts, and special collections repository of Indiana University, serving as a resource for scholars throughout the world as well as a center of cultural enrichment.
