The Russian Cultural Association at the Indiana University (IURCA) is a diverse community of Russian-speaking residents of Bloomington, Indiana. Anyone living in the US, who grew up in the countries of the former Soviet Union or is interested in the culture and traditions of the former Soviet republics, is welcome to join us.
The IURCA organizes various events and activities to pursue the following goals:
- To provide help with smooth transition to the new life for those who recently arrived in Bloomington.
- To inform the Russian-speaking community about news and events in Bloomington as well as around the world.
- To promote understanding and communication among natives of the former Soviet republics.
Our events include but are not limited to watching movies in Russian, having picnics or dinners featuring traditional food, participating in local events, as well as ice-skating, traveling, and sports events, such as tennis or skiing. The activities are usually organized by volunteers, therefore we welcome and encourage any contribution and/or active participation.
