|
The Frolic, built in 1845 by the Gardener brothers of Baltimore, Maryland, was a sailing Clipper Brig used for trans Pacific voyages between Asia and San Francisco. The vessel wrecked en route in 1850 near Mendicino, California. Recently the Frolic was designated as California's newest underwater shipwreck park and is currently under investigation by Indiana University in collaboration with California Department of Parks and Recreation.
