Specialties/Research Interests: Russian literature; literary theory; history of ideas in the humanities.

Current project(s): O. M. Freidenberg's Works and Days; the siege of Leningrad and its aftermath; various approaches to Gogol', Dostoevsky, and Tolstoy.

  • 19th and 20th Century Russian literature.
  • Russian literature from Karamzin to Tolstoy.
  • Tolstoy and Dostoevsky.
