Dissertation: "The Album in the Age of Russian and Polish Romanticism: Memory, Nation, Authorship."

Specialties/Research Interests: 19th-20th-century Polish and Russian literature and culture, comparative literature, film and visual arts, gender studies, Romanticism, post-communist cultures, national and authorial identity, issues of memory and collecting, autobiographical writings, marginal genres, the concept of the "West"and "Europe" in Polish/Russian cultures, representation and the body.

Current project(s): A book project: The Album in the Age of Russian and Polish Romanticism: Memory, Nation, Authorship, article on Romantic memory and remembering, article on Witold Gombrowicz's idea of the "West" in his diaries (1950s-60s), guidebook to Gombrowicz (co-edited with Jerzy Jarzebski and Benjamin Paloff), interdisciplinary conference on Polish-German relations: http://www.indiana.edu/~eucenter/pgconf.
