The 2009 Summer Workshop will offer the following language programs

Russian Language Programs

* Due to the change in funding status for these languages, the funding application deadline has been extended. The application for these languages will reopen Monday March 30 and close on April 13, 2009. Qualified graduate students applying for these language courses by that date will receive ACLS funding and can compete for FLAS fellowships.

** Tuition will be waived for graduate students specializing in any field of East European studies.

Azerbaijani and Tajik Bridge Study Option

In summer 2009 the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center is offering two language bridge study optons: from Turkish to Azerbaijani and from Persian to Tajik. The 9-day language bridge study option is administered prior to the eight-week intensive language institute (SWSEEL) and will allow students who have at least introductory knowledge of Turkish or Persian to enroll in intermediate-level of, respectively, Azerbaijani and Tajik for the following eight weeks (June 19-August 14). To apply please send an e-mail to iaunrc@indiana.edu. In order to be admitted to the free, no-credit bridge course you must apply for Intermediate Azerbaijani or Tajik in SWSEEL.
