Languages of Central Asia and the Caucasus
June 13 - August 8

The 2008 Workshop will offer the following languages:

  • First and second year Azerbaijani
  • First and second year Georgian
  • First and second year Kazakh
  • First and second year Pashto
  • First and second year Tajik
  • First and second year Turkmen
  • First and second year Uyghur
  • First and second year Uzbek
  • First year Mongolian

Funding and fellowships for undergraduates and graduates are available on a competitive basis. Please see "fellowships".

Courses listed above are offered in the Workshop with the cooperation of the Department of Central Eurasian Studies, the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center at Indiana University, and the Center for Languages of the Central Asian Region. Eight hours of credit are granted for first-year courses to undergraduates and 6 hours to graduates. Second-year courses grant 6 hours of credit to both graduates and undergraduates. First-year Georgian grants ten hours of credit to grads and undergrads.

Films and a lecture series are included as part of this program.
