The Indiana University Student Organization for Cognitive Science and the Indiana University Cognitive Science Program are pleased to present:

The Midwest Undergraduate Cognitive Science Conference (MUCSC)

April 4-5, 2009 - Indiana University Bloomington

All conference events are open to the public.

Douglas Hofstadter, College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Science, and Director of the Center for Research on Concepts and Cognition, will be delivering his keynote address, "AI Claims versus Cog-Sci Aims", on Saturday, April 4 at 4:00pm.

Each day at 1pm, undergraduates from across the Midwest will present their research during afternoon talk sessions beginning in Psychology 101.  To kick off Saturday's talk session, Professor Rob Goldstone will engage students in a social cognition demonstration.  There is also a poster session on Saturday, April 4 at 6pm on the main floor of the Psychology Building.  Coffee and snacks will be provided.

On Sunday morning, from 9am to noon, IU researchers and labs will be presenting demonstrations and lab tours.  Also on Sunday, following the afternoon talk session, select graduate students will have a panel discussion aimed at undergraduate students about attending graduate school.

We hope to see you this weekend at as many events as possible.

Sincerely,
