A good portion of IUTKD's training focuses on self-defense and situational awareness, so campus safety is an obvious concern. This past October, IUTKD pulled together a team to participate in the Jill Behrman 5k Color Run, an event promoting awareness of campus safety issues. Congrats to our runners who all did a fantastic job and showed their support for this worthy cause!

To help you show your club spirit we have everything from sweatshirts and hats to basketball shorts and gym bags. And be sure to grab one of our T-shirts before they're all gone!
Membership is $40 a semester for non-black belts, $20 for black belts. Everyone gets 3 free practices to check out the club before being required to pay.
In order to keep our practice times and room for next year, we need to raise a certain amount of money. You can help by donating to Relay for Life through us or by purchasing club merchandise.

The I.U. Tae Kwon Do Club has been an active part of the Indiana University Martial Arts Program since 1969. In that time we have trained over eighty black belts and taught the basics of Tae Kwon Do to thousands of I.U. students. Our instructor is Jim Thomas, a sixth Dan black belt. The club runs under the authority of Professor Donald J. Burns, a seventh Dan black belt in both Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido.
Tae Kwon Do is a fantastic means of maintaining physical health - it promotes flexibility, strength, and endurance. At the same time, it teaches you how to protect yourself, a priceless skill to learn. Lastly, your improved health and the knowledge that you can protect yourself will yield a wealth of self-confidence and personal satisfaction that will lead to success in all areas of your life.
No experience is necessary! We are one of the largest clubs at I.U. (we have over 90 members), and there are people from all levels of experience - you will have a great time!
