Can I complete my entire master's degree through distance learning?
Yes, students can take their entire 35 credit hour Master's program
through distance learning. More than 40 individuals have completed their
entire master's degrees via distance learning since the program began
in 1984-85.

Do I have to be admitted to start to take courses?
No, you don't have to be admitted to begin to take courses. You can
take up to 9 credit hours as a "nondegree" student. These
hours can later be applied toward the master's degree once the student
is admitted into the graduate program.

Do courses I take count toward requirements for NCTRC recertification?
Yes, taking a course is a great means to gain recertification points.
One graduate course is worth 45 of the 50 points required for recertification.

If I live out of Indiana, do I have to pay out-of-state tuition?
No, all distance learning students pay at the in-state tuition rate.
In addition, there is a $75.00 distance learning fee charged for each
course.
5.
Who teaches the graduate TR courses?
Courses are taught by the regular TR faculty of Indiana University.
6.
What TR graduate courses are offered?
TR courses regularly offered include: R560, Professional Development
in TR; R561, Advanced TR Processes; R562, Social Psychology of TR; R563,
Program Development and Consultation in TR; and R566, Therapeutic Interventions
with the Elderly.
7.
How long will it take a part time student to complete the M.S. degree?
Professionals have usually taken 3 to 4 years to complete their degrees
on a part-time basis. Students typically take one course per term or
three courses per year.
8.
How are distance learning courses instructed?
Courses are taught over interactive televisioin (1-way video, 2-way
audio) to remote sites throughout Indiana and two out-of-state sites.
Out-of-state sites are located in Baltimore Maryland, adn Cincinati
Ohio.
9.
What if I live in a part of the United States or Canada that is not close
to one of the remote site? Can I still take the courses?
In special instances, students have been allowed to take courses by
watching videotapes of the classes. The possibility of working out such
an arrangement should be discussed with Coordinator of Distance Learning,
Professor David Austin, Ph.D., CTRS.
