Fifth Third Direct Tips

Please clean your machine at least once a month. See link below for instructions on cleaning your machine.
Please, do NOT share your password! Not only is it a university violation, but it is simply not a wise thing to do. Users that share their log ons and passwords will have their access rights revoked.
ALWAYS cross shred your checks in-house 14 business days after the check have been scanned. Using an outside agency is not an acceptable way of destroying your scanned checks.
NEVER make copies or print scanned images of the checks or the reports. Confidential account numbers/information are on these items and they should not be printed or copied. NEVER stored PDF images of scanned checks on your computer.
Checks should be deposited daily. Unless approved by Treasury, make sure your deposits are scanned and TRANSMITTED prior to 4:00 p.m. each day.
Do not override the system on foreign items. If the check looks foreign, but has a US bank name, but does not have a MICR line, or account number on the bottom, it is more than likely foreign. If in doubt, please call!
Do not override the system on duplicate checks.
Keep your anti-virus scans current and active on your computer.
If you need assistance, please contact Diane Thrasher at dthrash@indiana.edu or 812-855-8587 or David Newsom at wnewsom@indiana.edu or 812-855-9457.
