Indiana University now has available a new option for making payments.  It is called a paycard.

The IU Paycard is a prepaid VISA debit card issued by Chase Bank that can be used by university departments to make payments for a wide variety of applications.  For example, the IU Paycard can be used to:

  • Make payroll payments to IU employees who cannot use direct deposit
  • Facilitate transactions in connection with international travel by IU Faculty, staff and students.  For example, funds can be placed on the IU Paycard via the FIS and those funds can be withdrawn via any VISA networked ATM worldwide
  • Make subject payments
  • Make disbursements out of a  revolving fund account
  • Serve as an alternative for issuing a check. The IU Paycard can, in some circumstances, be a more efficient and offer more controls versus making a payment via a check.

There are many other potential applications.  Please contact Ruth Harpool at 855 3910 if you would like further information or wish to discuss specific applications.
