Prize Winners

The 2008 Leonore and Louis Piser Prize in Jewish Studies: Daniel Millner

This $750 prize is awarded to the most outstanding graduating senior who plans to pursue a career or further academic work in Jewish Studies.

The 2008 Henry A. Bern Memorial Essay Competition Prize:"1 Kings 12: A Satire on the Exodus" by Aren Wilson-Wright

This $500 prize is awarded to the best undergraduate essay/creative writing in Jewish Studies submitted to a faculty committee.

The 2008 George and Monique Stolnitz Yiddish Prize: Margot Behren Valles

A $500 prize given to the student showing the greatest promise in the study of Yiddish language or literature and/or the history in which Yiddish culture took root and flourished.
