Test For Shodan (Black Belt)

All of the techniques from Gokyu through Ikkyu must be demonstrated and judges as proficient and have a recommendation from the head instroctor or promotion chair of the IU Judo Club

Black Belt Testing Is A Function for the State and national Promotion committies. John or Vern will contact the President of Indiana Judo to set up a Black Belt promotion examination as they are needed.

Requirments May Include:

1. All terms and translation of the techniques of Kodokan judo

2. Demonstration of all the techniques of Kodokan Judo

3. Competitive record/awards/achievements

4. Complete Demonstration of Nage No Kata

5. Written Recommendation by senior instructor.
