Community Service

Guide Right

...to inspire service in the public interest

The Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi actively participates in assisting the aims and purposes of Indiana University. The Alpha Chapter holds several annual philanthropy events that service the Bloomington Community, the students, and its members. Also, we are involved in several national programs that influence the lives of our Bloomington youth. As KAPPA men, we work to inspire service in the public interest which helps to nurture ourselves as well as others.

Community Service Events Include:

Annual Charity Event, "Christmas with the Kappas"

This event creates a social environment for the Bloomington Community while collecting proceeds to benefit disadvantaged families around the Christmas holiday.

Service Event with "My Sister's Closet"

"I AM IU: An Exploration of Black Student Life"

This three hour symposium targeted rising juniors and seniors in high school. The men of Alpha Chapter spoke on a panel discussion about the Black College Experience, gave a speech on College Life, and performed a Step Show for the students.

"IU's Finest Charity Auction"

The Charity Auction featured men from KAPsi, IU Athletics, and other greeks on campus. This event was a huge success and raised over $1000 to our local charity.

"Volunteers with Girls Inc. of Bloomington"

"Adopt-A-Road" Clean-Up

The Alpha Chapter has adopted a road in Bloomington to better serve our community. We are responsible for keeping this road clean and actively clean the road several times a year.

"Guide Right Program" with the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington

"Volunteer services at Soup Kitchens in Bloomington"
