Leadership: Kappa Delta Rho prides itself in building strong leaders. Through mentoring from senior Brothers coupled with hands-on work pledges will obtain not only what it takes to make it in the world, but how to become one with the skills to be on top. Not only do we as a chapter provide leadership teachings, but IU does as well. We encourage members to attend these classes to help better themselves. Kappa Delta Rho purely wants to mold and sculpt their pledges so that they have the skills to be leaders within all facets of their lives, whether that be community, fraternity, scholarly, or academic.
Scholarship: Every year the Nu chapter alumni base graciously donates roughly $2500 dollars to give back in scholarships to the active brothers. Pledges who maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout their pledgeship will also have the chance to receive an additional $100. Since the Nu chapter is in such an uproar for change, the amount of brothers and scholarships will be sure to raise over time as bring more brothers in.
Brotherhood: Kappa Delta Rho strives to bring each new member in and help them get acquainted with her values and ideals. In the same sense, each new member will form great bonds with the active brothers through activities and events which will help continue the tradition. The Men of KDR are a family and we treat each other as such. This has always been something that we pride ourselves in and is something we feel is necessary to help continue and further our chapter.
Service: With Bowling for Troops to KDR For Kids, the Nu chapter is always raising the bar in the services that we provide. Right now Bowling for Troops is our major philanthropy where we rent out bowling lanes and take donations towards care packages that we send to the troops overseas. The best thing about that is many people have personal relatives involved in the war so we can special packages for each individual. The service we give to our community is not only through a few major philanthropies. You can also find the brothers of the Nu chapter at the soup kitchen, working on houses for Habitat for Humanity, gathering toys for children in need, as well as donating our time to the University.
Tradition: The Nu chapter here at Indiana University has been active since 1926 when we were colonized. To this day, since we have never been kicked off campus, we are the longest continuously running chapter at IU, currently at 82 years. Kappa Delta Rho did not start in 1926 although, as we were founded in 1905 with a deep heritage in Roman culture. Pledges who come into Kappa Delta Rho are familiarized with our deep-set traditions, not only as a fraternity, but as a chapter here at our Alma Mater as well.
