Kappa Gamma Delta Mission

"Bridging activism and academics through sisterhood."

In an effort to adhere to our mission statement, KGD has established the following guidelines:

Principles

Goals

  1. To promote awareness of the Asian-American experiences and culture.
  2. To cultivate understanding between women with an interest in Asian-American experiences and culture.
  3. To foster group solidarity while building self-identity, pride, and respect.
  4. To contribute to the university and surrounding community through philanthropic work.
  5. To enhance academic performance and encourage scholastic excellence of each member.

Membership

All applicants must meet the following criteria:
  1. Applicant must be female
  2. Applicant should be a first-year or second-year undergrduate (however we do consider juniors and seniors.)
  3. Applicant must have at least a 2.9 grade point average.
  4. Applicant must demonstrate a genuine interest in promoting about and learning Asian-American culture.
  5. Applicant must undergo pledgeship and initiation procedures.

Service

Kappa Gamma Delta is dedicated to giving back to the community through service and philanthropy. Currently, KGD sponsors the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation as its national philanthropy. KGD has also done service for Hoosier Hills Food Bank, Meadow Wood Retirement Home, and the Habitat for Humanity, just to name a few. Annual basketball tournaments, canned food drives, and parties are also held to collect donations for various charities.
