Article I

Name
The name of this organization shall be the Hoosier Sports Business Organization.

Article II

Purpose
The purpose of the Hoosier Sports Business Organization shall be to provide an opportunity for Indiana University students, faculty or staff interested in sport marketing and management to become involved and to be able to experience actual skills that will be useful in later job experiences. This organization shall also promote activities which encourage leadership qualities in the members through social interaction.

Article III

Membership
Membership is open to any Indiana University student, faculty, or staff member wishing to advance the stated purpose.

Article IV

Officers - Executive Board
Sec. 1
The President shall be the official head of the organization. He/She shall call all meetings of the organization and sign official documents of the organization. The President or his/her designee shall officially represent the organization. He/She shall consult the Executive Board prior to any club decisions.
Sec. 2
The Vice-President shall help coordinate all club special events and other activities pertaining to the nature of the club.
Sec. 3
The Secretary shall record minutes of every meeting, maintain reports of all the organization's activities, keep an updated attendance list, and submit a copy of all reports to each member of the executive board.
Sec. 4
The Treasurer shall keep record of all fees and pay any bills or dues owed by this club. He/She shall also submit a monthly report.
Sec. 5
The Marketing Chair shall conduct all promotions for all club functions.
Sec. 6
The Membership Chair shall recruit members and maintain all information pertaining to their membership.
 

Article V

Elections
Sec. 1
Elections will be held in April of each year. All potential candidates shall contact the club via email before elections take place to notify the executive board of the position they are running for..
Sec. 2
At elections, potential candidates shall give a short speech on their plans for that position.
Sec. 3
A majority vote is required to win an election. If there is no majority decision, the top two will run again and a winner shall be decided by vote. In the event a tie occurs, the President's vote will decide.
Sec. 4
If a vacancy occurs in any office, this vacancy will be filled by an election at the first club meeting after the vacancy occurs. If no interest arises for the position, it shall be filled by the President's appointment.
Sec. 5
Installation of new officers will be held on the last meeting in April.
Sec. 6
Any individual who is nominated for office must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0.

Article VI

Dues
The dues for each member shall be ten dollars per semester or fifteen dollars per year. Dues shall be turned in with each member’s application.

Article VII

Advisor
The advisor will work closely and cooperatively with the organization and shall be considered an honorary, non-voting member.

Article VIII

Amendments
Amendments to this constitution may be proposed by a club member. The amendment must be accepted by a two-thirds affirmation vote of the club members present at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Article IX

Removing an Officer from Office
An officer missing more than two un-excused scheduled meetings, club or executive, may be removed from office upon a majority vote of the executive board. A warning will be issued by the President following each un-excused absence.
