Undergraduate Minors

Overview

One of three departments in HPER, the Department of Kinesiology is committed to the study of human movement to expand knowledge and understanding, to prepare individuals for scholarly and professional endeavors, and to provide public service. The department offers a variety of options for undergraduate study that lead to the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. There are also several minor options available in the department.

Degree Requirements

Students completing a non-teaching kinesiology minor will be required to take 18 credit hours from the HPER courses listed below with an overall grade point average of at least 2.0.

The minor is intended for students in other degree programs who wish to add a sports speciality to their area of study. This minor may be helpful to students who plan to enter a variety of graduate or professional programs. Students may choose a variety courses in their particular area(s) of interest. Many students complete a concentration of courses that allows them an emphasis in one the areas listed below: sport science, management, fitness, or the socio-psychological aspect of sport.
