"Sexual Inhibition and Excitation as a Sexual Health Risk Factor" S. A. Sanders, Project Director, with Cynthia Graham and Erick Janssen as co-investigators. Funded by The Lilly Centre for Women's Health. $25,000 Nov 2000-June 2003.

"Behavioral Aspects of Sexual Health" John Bancroft (PI) funded by NIMH, 1 R25 MH62416-01, $234,715 12/1/00-11/30/02. Co-ordinating Faculty member. Funding supports two summer institutes focused on graduate education in research related to: (1) studying high-risk sexual behaviors (HRSB); and (2) developing and evaluating interventions to reduce sexual risk. Travel, accommodation, and the summer institute registration fee will be provided for 25 students (including up to five international students) for each week-long program.

"Psychosocial, Partner-specific and Coitus-specific Risk and Protective Factors Associated with Sexually Transmitted Infections among Women in Middle Adolescence" Co-investigator with Dennis Fortenberry (PI) and Kara Wools. I was accepted to, and participated in, the training course listed below which furthered my knowledge in research ethics. In addition to serving on the IUB Human Subjects Committee and having participated in the Poynter Center's Teaching Research Ethics Workshop some years ago, I have taught research ethics in the summer institutes and graduate research seminars.

In 2000 I was videotaped for a French TV series of three 52 minute programs which will explore in detail the current state of scientific research into the biological, chemical and neurological foundations of the state called 'love'. Specifically they interviewed me regarding oral contraceptive use, menopause, adolescence, and sexuality.

Invited Participant, Pfizer Journal Meeting on Intimate Relationships, July 19-21, 2000, Santa Fe, NM. I was one of 10 invited participants. The transcripts of the meeting were used to draft Intimate Relationships: A Vital Component of Health, The Pfizer Journal, Vol. 4, N. 2000.

Videotaped interview by the BBC for Hormonally Yours one of a three part series titled Body Chemistry. The program was aired by the BBC in February 2000 and later by Discovery-Health in the US.

Invited Participant, Scientific Workshop on Lesbian Health, Sponsored by Department of Health and Human Services, the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health, the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA), and other Federal Agencies. Washington, D.C., May 23-24, 2000. I was one of 100 invited participants. The purpose of the meeting was to recommend ways that NIH could implement recommendations from an Institute on Medicine report on lesbian health. I was in the Methodological Issues subsection.
