Overview

Knee High is a day cooperative for children aged 6 months to 3 years. As a cooperative, parents run Knee High, making it a family oriented facility. Membership is limited to families in which at least one parent is an IU student, staff or faculty member. Knee High is open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday following the IUB academic calendar.

Children at Knee High learn through both child generated and caregiver directed activities. The philosophy is child centered with a play based curriculum that encourages positive social skills, self esteem, enhanced creativity, expanded language skills and cognitive development, development of physical skills, and an appreciation for diversity.

Knee High is staffed by member parents and work study students. Knee High Cooperative is located in a house with 2 rooms for free play, a craft room, a nap room and a kitchen. Current fees are $175.00 per month. Each family is also required to work 10 hours per week plus participation in administrative duties.
