Overview

Knee High is a day cooperative for children aged 6 months to 3 years. As a cooperative, parents run Knee High, making it a family oriented facility. Membership is limited to families in which at least one parent is an IU student, staff or faculty member. Knee High is open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday following the IUB academic calendar.

Children at Knee High learn through both child generated and caregiver directed activities. The philosophy is child centered with a play based curriculum that encourages positive social skills, self esteem, enhanced creativity, expanded language skills and cognitive development, development of physical skills, and an appreciation for diversity.

Knee High is staffed by member parents and student employees. We are located in a house with two rooms for general free play, one room for infant free play, a nap room, a kitchen, and ample storage space for our wide range of toys, activity equipment, and arts and crafts material. Our facilities also include a large playground area with equipment that is challenging, fun, and safe for all of the age ranges represented at our cooperative.

Current fees are $200.00 per month. Each family is also required to work 10 hours per week plus participation in administrative duties. For more information, talk to any parent on duty at Knee High at 812-855-0150
