Knot Theory Calculators

Here is a list of web pages that offer online computation of knot invariants that are not readily listed in a table. We have opened this page in a second window, since the use of some of the calculators might call upon cutting and pasting information (such as Seifert matrices) from the knot table into the calculator.

Homology Calculator:  Computes the homology of a cyclic branched cover of S^3 branched over a knot, given a Seifert matrix for the knot.

Braid Calculator:  Computes canonical form of braids, finds centralizers, checks whether braids are conjugate, and performs several other braid calculations.

Knot Sketcher  is a Java program, written by Jiho Kim, that lets you draw a knot and returns the DT notation . It requires Java 1.4 to run, and may take a minute to start up.

Link Sketcher  is a Java program, written by Jiho Kim, that lets you draw a knot and returns the PD notation . It requires Java 1.4 to run, and may take a minute to start up.

Alexander Polynomial  is a beta version of a webMathematica page that computes the Alexander polynomial given the PD notation.

Knot Groups  is a beta version of a webMathematica page that computes the group of a knot complement, given its PD notation.
