Knot Table Database Access

To get complete copies of the database, please contact Chuck Livingston. There are three files available.

Data Files. This file contains all the data other than figure files. It is a tab delimited file. Each row (other than the first two, which contain column name information) corresponds to a knot. Columns are related to individual knot invariants. But be warned: for each knot invariant there are two columns, the first of which contains the value of invariant and the second of which contains the url of a page that contains related information. Most users will want to delete these second columns. Also be warned, there are differences in notation used for the polynomials of 12 crossing knots, as compared to lower crossing knots. Most users will need to massage the data, replacing ";" with "," etc. (FILE SIZE = 4.2MB)

Figure files: EPS. This tar file contains all knot diagrams used by KnotInfo in eps format. There are two directories, one with images of knots and the other with the mirror images of those knots. Notice that the names correspond to the DT naming scheme. So, the knot with file name k5_01.ps is the file with classical name 5_2. KnotInfo contains the names under both conventions to facilitate translation. (WARNING - the file names of knots and their mirror images are the same, so be careful, they are contained in separate directories. This should be fixed soon.(FILE SIZE = 4.4MB)

Figure files: PNG. This tar file contains all knot diagrams used by KnotInfo in png format. There are two directories, one with images of knots and the other with the mirror images of those knots. Notice that the names correspond to the DT naming scheme. So, the knot with file name k5_01.ps is the file with classical name 5_2. KnotInfo contains the names under both conventions to facilitate translation. (FILE SIZE = 38MB)
