On behalf of the faculty, staff and students,welcome to the Division of Education at Indiana University Kokomo. We invite you to learn about our mission and commitment to excellence by exploring our Web site, where you will find information about our teacher education programs and professional education initiatives, partnerships, and activities. We are proud of our strong undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare our graduates to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. You will find, however, the greatest strength of the Division of Education is our people. It is my honor to serve as Interim Dean of Education and represent such an incredible group of dedicated and caring faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Welcome to the Education Alumni Network
Welcome to the new Division of Education Alumni Network Web site. This site will provide opportunities for conversations about teaching and learning for 1,681 alumni and Division faculty and staff. It is our intent to create multiple opportunities for alums to communicate about their professional activities, accomplishments, and needs. We will utilize the Web site as a link for graduate courses, in-service opportunities, assessment of division programs, search and screen processes, development of a Speakers Bureau, nomination and recognition of outstanding P-12 alumni, and an upcoming Fall Picnic for alumni and their families.
A mailing has gone out to all 1,681 alumni, describing our Network. It includes a brochure of our newly approved M.S. in Education Degree for elementary and secondary teachers. An opportunity for teachers to study abroad is awaiting final approval by the United States Department of Education’s Fulbright Hays Study Tour Abroad Program to Turkey and the Republic of Georgia from June 10-July 9. A new application date of April 15, 2007 is posted on our website along with application and study tour materials (www.iuk.edu/education/fulbright.shtml). We anticipate hearing about the proposal in the next two weeks, but are accepting applications now.
