Proxy Link Generator

Creating Links for Off-Campus Access to Library Resources

Question: How do I set up links to articles or other resources such as items from the library databases - for Oncourse Web pages or other locations - so that they work from off-campus?

Answer: You need to format the links in a way that redirects them through the EZproxy server. If you don't do this, the links will work from on-campus, but not from off-campus.

Use this Link Generator to create your 'proxied' links:

  • The link must be a "persistent" link. This means that the link is not generated with a session identifier.  When in doubt try it, but test it a day later to make sure it still works.
  • You do not need to do this for freely available sites (such as Google) or links that already begin with http://ezproxy.iuk.edu....
  • If you have addresses such as http://someaddress.com.ezproxy.iuk.edu..., this will fix them for you.
  • The links generated will work from both on-campus and off-campus.
  • This tool requires JavaScript enabled in your browser to work.

1. Copy and paste your source URL here:

2. Click the "Create link" button below:

3. Copy and use the resulting link

4. Clear the form to make another link

NOTE: Only sites which have been registered in the EZproxy server will work. If you are working with an outside Web resource that needs to be registered with EZproxy, contact Kirsten Leonard. Please provide the URL you're trying to link to.
