The goals of the L630 Strategies and Styles in Language Learning course is to prepare future language instructors and researchers to integrate the theories and teaching applications of language learning strategies and styles into their curriculum. A key professional goal is to assist students to become cognizant of the ways they learn most effectively and to develop strategies and ways to become more motivated and independent learners.

You should be able to access web-based Internet and use e-mail. Your IU network ID and IU e-mail account will be needed after your registration. Once you are a registered student with IU, all you need to do is to email valid@indiana.edu to request your network ID. This will provide you with an IU email account and access to network services. In the email message, provide your name, student ID number and a mailing address so we will need to know where to mail the information (username and password). Return to Top |

As a web-based distance education course, the class does not have a specific time and space during the semester to meet on a regular basis. All the course content will be on the web, and the communication, interaction, and discussions will be conducted through either e-mail or a class electronic forum on the web. You are expected to There are six modules in this course (See Table 1 for details.) The estimated time required for graduate-level participation in this course is nine (9) hours minimum each week.

| Grading will be on a straight percentage basis. All
assignments are due by 10 AM on the date published on the
schedule. Plagiarism is not
tolerated. The IU
Student Code of Ethics applies to this class.
There are six (6) assignments in this class. Each of them will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
GRADING SCALE: 97.5-100% = A+ 92.6-97.5% = A 90.1-92.5% = A- 87.6-90% = B+ 82.6-87.5% = B 80.1-82.5% = B- 77.6-80% = C+ 72.6-77.5% = C |
