Welcome to the LEC's website! Read below for some interesting information about our organization or contact us with any comments/question...

1. The Latino Enhancement Cooperative strives to promote Latino advancement and community fortification through leadership development, cultural and intellectual enrichment, public outreach, academic achievement, community solidarity and activism.

2. Participation in the LEC is open to anyone in the IU community (students, faculty, staff, and alumni), who devotedly share our pro-Latino mission and spirit of activism and community enrichment. Membership is free of cost to those interested in contributing time, skills, and initiative to add to the organization's resources and strength.

3. The LEC hosts the Annual Latino Leadership Conference which
celebrates the uniqueness of Latino students in a forum by and for students and cultivates the exchange of ideas, values, and beliefs in order to promote scholarship, development, and empowerment of Indiana’s college and high school Latinos.  For more information about the next conference click here.

4. New leadership and fresh ideas are currently being infused into the LEC. One of our newest developments for the Fall 2004 semester is the hosting of this year's Festival Latino which will be taking place on September 18th, 2004 at Dunn Meadow.  Don't miss Festival Latino 2004!

The leadership at the LEC is selected through consensus based on the enthusiasm and resourcefulness of the individuals. These positions will rotate each semester to ensure that all interested members have the opportunity to develop leadership skills through actual experience, and to allow for constant revitalization of the organization by the input of new ideas and positive energy.

The leadership for the Fall 2004 Semester committee is still under consideration, contact us if you would like to actively participate in the LEC's.
