Mi Existir Es Resistir: Latino Cultural Centers In The Post-election Era | La Casa

Ethnic cultural centers at PWIs have promoted student success in many ways, including serving as a home away from home, providing cultural nourishment and education, and developing opportunities for networking, mentoring, and community outreach. In the current cultural and political climate where racist and anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies are condoned and initiated at the highest levels of government, what role do Latino cultural centers play in supporting student development while transforming the campus environment? This interactive discussion will consider ways in which cultural centers can evolve to meet new challenges while honoring lessons from the past. Discussion lead by Dr. Adele Lozano from University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.

SATURDAY 10/6/18 @ 4:00-5:00 PM

Luis Davila Latinx Thematic Community & Alumni Meet and Greet | Forrest Quad
